Jim Wragg is a Principal Hydrogeologist based in the United Kingdom with more than 20 years experience in the detailed investigation, assessment and remediation of contaminated soil and groundwater, working primarily with site owners from the industrial sector.
Mr. Wragg has 25 years direct and relevant experience in corrective action programme design and implementation, including regulatory negotiation, for complex contaminated sites, which places him among the leading consultants in this field in the UK and Ireland. He has worked more broadly across Europe including projects in The Netherlands, Belgium, France, Spain and Italy.
Mr. Wragg has managed and directed a broad spectrum of contaminated land projects. These have included a number of large-scale, complex chemical/manufacturing plant site remediation projects and several multi-site, post-acquisition environmental liability management efforts. These projects were marked by their cost-efficient, timely delivery, incorporating emerging technologies and innovative applications of proven technologies, as appropriate. For example, he served as project director for the pre-closure assessment of soil and groundwater contamination of four old, large-scale manufacturing facilities. The sites were proposed to be redeveloped as residential housing and sold with the benefit of outline planning permission. Risk-based remedial action plans with corresponding cost estimates were developed and implemented for each site.
In addition to working with sites in transition to new uses, he has served as project director for Pollution Prevention and Control (PPC) baseline assessments of soil and groundwater contamination and designed Site Protection and Monitoring Programmes (SPMPs) for a variety of active facilities including those in ferrous metal manufacturing, chemical manufacturing, food production, and electric power generation (fossil fuel and nuclear).
As part of his due diligence experience, Mr. Wragg conducted assessments of environment liabilities associated with depot networks used for the rental of vehicles, trailers, construction plant and portable office units at more than 140 sites over a four-year period in the UK.
